A new series is born! Family Pack Book 2

Today marks the publication date of my “baby werewolf” novel, Hunter’s Moon.

HuntersMoonCover300It’s a sequel to my “rural fantasy” novel Family, Pack, in which our hero Tommy has a newborn baby he has to care for, and he’s barely 20 years old. In the new book, it’s a year later, and his daughter Corinne is definitely in her terrible twos stage.

So maybe I should call it my “toddler werewolf” novel.

In any case, I had a ton of fun writing this book, even I took a long break from it during the middle and end of 2015 (unemployment and job-hunting will do that to you!). I’m really glad I picked up Tommy and Corinne’s story again, because I have a lot of ideas of where to go next with this father-daughter werewolf combo.

And hey, this means I’ve got another series underway, to go along with my Contagious Magic series.

(Next up is book two in the Finder Team series, which will give me three ongoing series at the same time. Woo!)

Half a Decade from the Master Class

From October 3rd to October 17th, 2009, I attended a Fiction Writing Master Class with a dozen other writers. We had hours of classes every day, assignments every night, and we wrote. A lot. I came away with three complete stories, pages of notes, and ideas for at least a dozen novels.

I also learned a ton about publishing, and that led to all of my adventures in indie publishing with UnWrecked Press. Definitely a life-changing experience (and I even had to miss the wedding of two of my friends to attend it, so I knew I had to make the most out of every minute).

Looking a bit smug there, aren't we, Mr. Sunglasses?
Looking a bit smug there, aren’t we, Mr. Sunglasses?

So what have I done since my return from that Master Class workshop in mid-October 2009?

What have I accomplished in the past 5 years?

One thing I did was make ebooks. Lots of ebooks – close to a hundred! I did one short-story-as-ebook a week for the entire year of 2011 (that was kind of ambitious, eh?).

And I learned how to create print-on-demand books.

And I found narrators to make audiobooks out of three of my novels and one short story, which was a fun exercise. I’d love to do more, and maybe even narrate one myself.

Oh, and I started my own publishing company. With its own website and online store. Check out our Catalog!

As for actual WRITING, well… (continue reading if you like minutiae!)

New Newsletter!

I’ve been meaning to set this up for a while, and now it’s finally ready: the UnWrecked Press newsletter!

If you look over to the right under UnWrecked Press News, you’ll see a sign-up link, or you can just click here to subscribe.

If you’re one of those folks who like to take a test drive first, here’s the first “issue” for November 2013, which just came out today. There’s some nifty stuff in this first issue, including info about a couple books for sale, and a link to download a new, FREE ebook filled with stories and novel excerpts from our small publishing company.

The newsletter comes out only once a month, so we won’t bombard you with emails. We’ll have news about what we’re working on here in our mountainous UnWrecked Press headquarters, and tell you about some great specials and sales on our books, comics, stories, audiobooks, and more!

NOTE: I’m also getting rid of my Michael Jasper Facebook Page and replacing it with the UnWrecked Press Facebook Page, so feel free to Like the new page. The other one most likely has already self-destructed…
