Well, I’d hoped to share my commentary for the next page of our webcomic IN MAPS & LEGENDS today, but… that was just not meant to be.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see page 14 on the Zuda Comics page, because DC Comics has shut down the Zuda site. This just happened today, so I’m still kinda in shock.
What I’m most bummed about was that the really cool pages that artist Niki Smith created for the series won’t be seen. At least not on Zuda’s site.
But you never know. Publishing is a crazy business. And the closure of Zuda doesn’t come as a complete surprise. After the dust has settled, we’re hoping to find a new home for the comic, so we can continue the weird and crazy and exciting story of Kait, Grandpa, and Bartamus and the collision of their worlds.
Now I just wish I could tell the Mike from November 2009 not to stress out so much (that was when the competition ran for the Zuda site)…
All in all, it was a great learning experience, and more than anything, Niki taught me a ton of great things about making comics. That’s the kind of thing nobody can take away from you. And it was great writing a comic. I’ll let you know where you can find page 14 and the rest of our story.
Long Live In Maps and Legends!!
For reference sake, I’m posting a bunch of different comic book sites with their contact info.

The announcement seemed to say they’d be porting some comics with them to the main site. Any idea which or how they’d choose?

There’s about 6-8 comics that I’ve read about that made the cut to the digital platform… Not ours, as far as I know.
