Thanks to fellow writer Dr. Catherine, I heard about this excellent group of writers called MayNoWriMo (May Novel Writing Month), and after thinking about it for, oh, a minute or two, I realized this was just what I needed.
I’ve been working on revising my historical/slipstream/baseball/mystery novel for the past few months, but I hit a roadblock right at the 40k mark. I was afraid to admit it, but I think it’s time to quit trying to polish up bad prose, and chuck the last 50k and write it again fresh.
And here’s where MayNoWriMo comes in! I won’t be drafting an all-new 50,000-word novel in May, but writing new words for a work-in-progress. Hope nobody minds. I can’t wait to get started. I plan on spending a good chunk of time tomorrow organizing my notes and prepping for the write-a-thon. Can’t wait!
Now where are my notes… And my Moleskine…?
As they said in my youth, “Write on!” Or was it…? Anyway, good luck. Sometimes all it takes is a fresh start.

Exactly, Sarah. That’s what I’m hoping, at least. I always seem to get bogged down in the middle of my novels. This ought to get me over that hump.
