Sigh. Didn’t get anything written Friday, though I did squeezing in some words later in the afternoon (Bad Idea). Saturday I shoulda written, but went to sleep at 9 p.m. to try to get caught up. Today, I should got up when I woke around 5:30 or so, but I’m a lazy bastard.
And tonight, for a variety of reasons, I don’t feel like writing. Coming off a busy day, watching the kids for most of the day while Elizabeth helped give therapy to her great-aunt, while the therapists at the hospital kick back and eat bon-bons, apparently.
Just one of those days, I guess. I did get a start on chapter 5, featuring Grampa, and read some more Etched City, which has slowed down, plot-wise, quite a bit, but still has some amazing world-building details in it. So many I’m a bit flummoxed w/ my own worlds…
As I read along, enjoying your progess and wincing at your deletions, I find myself asking, “Why are you talking as though the deadline approacheth? The sickle flashes and poof!” I agree one should set guidelines and goals, but sometimes it sounds as though you’re fighting yourself. Just wondering….

Hey Sarah! I was gonna just leave all those process entries Private, but I kind of enjoy reading those sorts of things on other writers’ journals, so I made ’em public. I also did it to make myself toe the line, since I do indeed have a deadline for this book (yikes!). It’s due to the publisher soon — “at the end of the summer” is how we left it. I’m a bit behind because I put in on the back burner in April or so, and then I finished up my YA novel.
But you’ve got a point. I need to stop beating myself up about it, and just have fun.
Thanks for dropping by and sharing some perspective with me. 🙂
